As the only Vietnamese recipient of the Best PhD Thesis Award in Geomaterials in Europe (2013) and the Itasca Award in Austria (2020), Dr. Vũ Minh Ngọc, born in 1983, is currently working at the French National Institute for Radioactive Waste Management. He is the lead expert overseeing all research projects related to geomechanics applied to the storage of high-level radioactive waste across France.
The development of the nuclear industry will serve as a catalyst for advancing science and technology in Vietnam. In the long term, this can bring substantial benefits to the country’s economy and society. Moreover, many Vietnamese professionals have been and are currently involved in nearly every stage of nuclear power projects worldwide—from project planning to plant operation—particularly in France. They remain ready and willing to contribute to the success of Vietnam’s future nuclear initiatives.
